Here's an email we received today. How accurate is this information? Thanks

Congratulations, cjcherri!!!
We are in SF too, filed on the end of July, receipt date is begining of August.
Did you file on June 5-th or that was the date on your NOA? if no, what was the date on your NOA?
Did you go for biometrics already (index finger only)?
Congrats again

Hello cjcherri,

I sent one post earlier on the google newsgroups but looks like it got
lost .

How did you setup for the email alert? Do you have to call and give
your email or set it up online? I am wondering since we dont mention
our email address anywhere on the I-751 app.

We have applied at the end of April and we havent received anything
yet. WE are planning to take an infopass appointment sometime next
month . We also havent received any biometrics notice that many of the
recent filers of I-751 have been getting. WE have filed through the
TSC. I have heard some of the few recent filers have been able to check
their I-751 status online but we are not able to check it up online. We
just want to be sure that in case USCIS has sent out any communication
we havent lost it or missed in the mail.

Go to www.uscis.gov and you can set up e-mail alerts and depending on your e-mail server you can set it to forward to your cell phone! You will need to have a case number.

Hi,
Some of us when we create a profile and try to enter the application number (the LIN ...) its doesnt find it, so I guess its for some cases only that you can find the application number !

It doesn't find the reciept number you get with your first NOA. With the more recent I-751's where biometrics are captured, there is a different receipt number on the biometric notice or 2nd NOA one receives( NSC in this case). This one allows you to setup an online account with email notification.

we filed on June 5th and received by CSC on the 10th, I believe. Check was cashed on June 23rd and never received the receipt. We tried to call the 800 number and never could get anyone on the phone. So we emailed CSC. At first, Helen Andrew wrote back and said that CSC doesn't not response to email request so we wrote back telling her that we tried many times and spent hours on the phone and was never able to get someone to speak to us. She wrote back telling us that she will request for a receipt to be sent to us,meanwhile the case was pending. To our surprise, she wrote again to let us know that our case has been approved. We'll let everyone know when the notice come in.

BTW, is it necessary to do biometric again? we were not called to do so. We also send in 3 passport photos.

Biometrics seemed to be required only for those cases filed after Jul 1st.

Yes, I was confused too. But like I said, it seems to be procedure for cases filed after Jul 1st....which is when I filed.
Got the first NOA in about 2 weeks, the nothing till the end of September, 2nd NOA and biometric notice. Completed biometrics Oct 4th...I wonder how much longer it will be. Anybody else file at Nebraska during the same time frame?
