I-751 and Affidavits
We are getting ready to submit our I-751 to have the conditions
removed on my husbands (UKC) 2-yr green card. I have been diligent
over the past two years to save anything that could be construed as
potential evidence to send in with this application and feel good
about everything I've collected (joint financial documents, insurance
policies, car titles and registration, utility bills, rental lease
agreements, beneficiary forms, tax returns, tickets and hotel receipts
from vacations and trips taken together, personal mail received at
addresses we've lived together, etc.).
The one thing that I hadn't thought about were the affidavits from
people that know us. It would not be a problem to obtain these.
However, we can go ahead an submit the application materials we've got
(not affidavits as of Aug 22 (the beginning of our 90 day window) or
wait to get the affidavits returned to us and submit them when we get
them. I'm sure we can get them in a reasonable time frame, but relying
on other people (that don't live in the same state) is always iffy.
Are the affidavits necessary to having a "complete" application? I
couldn't tell from the wording of the instructions if these are
mandatory or just helpful along with other evidence.
Thanks for any thoughts,
Marie

Re: I-751 and Affidavits
Hi Marie,
The affidavits are suggested but not required. We did not file any affidavits with our I-751, we had all the other types of evidence you mentioned, and we got approved (without an interview).
Best Wishes,
Rene

My husband's I-751 just got approved about a month ago. We submitted all the evidence you have listed here, and did not include any affidavits. Like Noorah said, they are suggested not required.
If you don't think you have strong enough evidence, then these could be used to supplement what evidence you do have.
