Default I-751 affadavits

Hi there,

I'm just about to submit my I-751 form to remove the condition on residence.
I got stuck with the affadavits (seems mandatory as per I-751 instructions)
and was wondering if anyone has advice on how to best write them, or could
share some samples of their own letters. Specifically, I would like to
know:
1) Can I write the same letter for different people and fill in the blanks,
then have them sign it? I don't want to burden my friends with immigration
stuff and want to make it as easy as possible.
2) I've heard that the letters should have a notarized signature, even
though this is not listed as a filing requirement in the I-751 instructions.
Any advice would be highly appreciated!! Please reply to the newsgroup, not
by email (email on this is bogus account due to junk mail).
Thanks!
Katja

Hi:

Re-read the insructions -- the affidavits are NOT mandatory. In fact, the only documents that are mandadory are a signed I-751 and payment in the correct amount.

This list of documents in the instructions is of SUGGESTED documents.

If however you do decide to send in affidavits from friends and family, here's a sample format you could use:

Hello again,

Thanks for the info and link to a few samples. Does anyone else have
samples, or advice? I know the affidavits are not mandatory, however if it
makes the process EASIER, then I would like to go for it. Perhaps
submitting these affadavits will get me out of the interview (no?). I live
3 hours away from my local INS and any day that I don't have to spend there
is worth the effort... So, any other advice/sample letters would be greatly
appreciated! Is there anyone who submitted affidavits and wasn't called for
an interview, or felt that the affidavits have helped, also vice versa, has
anyone experienced difficulties because they didn't send affidavits?

Thanks much!
Katja

Why some people are called for interviews and some are not, isn't very clear. People who submitted sufficient proof have been called for interviews, and have never discovered why they were called, at all. For your information, there have been people who have been approved without affidavits. So whose to say? You need to provide them with hard evidence that your marriage is valid.
In my opinion, joint bank accounts, taxes filed jointly, joint ownership of property like a house for instance are extremely strong peices of evidence. There are also minor peices of evidence like letters received at the same address, that sort of thing. Utility bills with both names. A myriad things you may have thrown in an old shoe box during the course of your marriage. Just get them out and you will come across all sorts of things you could send in. Hi:

The BCIS keeps its standards for setting interviews quite close to the chest. I think a lot of it often has to do with the individual examiner and the way they feel that day -- think of Yossarian censoring letters while in the hosptial and you will get the idea.

Also, certain cases are simply pulled at random for interview.
