I-134 Affidavit of Support
Hi,
I was just wondering on the Affidavit of Support, if my income is above the 125% poverty line for California, which I think and hope it is, does it matter, if I don't have a savings account, any property or stocks and bonds?
And what is classified as personal property?
I only seem to be able to complete the first line, income, of that section, should I be concerned???
Thanks in advance for your response

As long as you meet the 125% mark with your income you won't need to show any further proof of support other than your income tax returns. And the guidelines aren't per state - they are the federal requirements. You should be able to find the exact figures at: http://k1.exit.com/affidavitframes.html

The guidelines do actually change for Hawaii and Alaska. But all the others are
the same. The poverty guidelines on the link mentioned are last year's - you
need the guidelines for 2002. I posted a thread here quoting the up-to-date
government site and relevant figures a couple of days ago. I don't have them to
hand anymore but you should be able to find it by clicking back a page or two.
Best of luck.
