Default I-130 question

I just got off the misinformation line. I was told that:
"If your stepson is included on the I-130 that you filed for your husband, AND that petition is approved prior to the K3, you DO NOT have to file an I-130 for your stepson for him to travel to the United States - He will automatically be granted a visa with his father"

Truth or fiction?

gemma,

Fiction. The I-130 qualifies the benficiary only to apply for a family-based immigrant visa. Your stepson will need his own I-130 for visa purposes just as he would for AOS purposes if he enters on a K4.

I'm just curious about if the I-130 is approved before the K3/K4. Vermont is going pretty fast with the processing.
