I-130 processing time at US-based service centers?
Does anyone have an idea, for US citizens filing for immediate
relatives, at US service centers, what is the expected wait time? I checked the processing times at the Nebraska and Texas centers and there was no I-130 listed. I checked for California and Vermont, and they are processing 2006 applications. So.. does this mean under one year? Thanks. |
Re: I-130 processing time at US-based service centers?
Vermont and California are the two USCIS processing centers for I-130 filed in USA. Even though you may be directed to mail the I-130 petition elsewhere, it would be forwarded on to one of these centers. The processing times listed give the date when the petitions currently being processed were submitted.
From there the case is forwarded to the NVC, and then the consulate of the relevant country, both of which take additional time for processing. |

I sent I-130 last Nov 2006 and the site says they are processing Aug 21st 2006 at the California centre. So i gathered another couple of months. But the Approval notice came this morning . So now have the wait from the NVC and then Embassy. But getting there . Good Luck with yours. |

They have a "goal processing time" - for Ex. for I-129F it is six months. What they are showing is: 1. If they are meeting their goal They show the date of the goal, not what they are actually doing. So for ex. for an I-129F, they would show a date 6 months ago, regardless of what they are actually processing. They could actually be processing anything from that date or newer. 2. If they are NOT meeting their goal They show the petition date that they are actually processing. Therefore, the dates are now even more meaningless than they used to be. |
