I-130 processing date for CSC
USCIScase status service online shows California Service Center is working on I-130 cases received on May 21, 2003. One of my friend found her case on May19,2003 was approved online.
It seems I have some problem with my case. As My case was received on May 9, 2003. Nothing change online on case status. It still says need 990 days to process....bla, bla..... I called the Toll number. I was asked to wait for another 30 days to check. WHY??????????? Is there any problem with my case ?????????
Has this happened to anyone else in California serive Center on this group?...
Thanks for your advice

Re: I-130 processing date for CSC
i have come to realise (and partially accept) that the CIS has no method to their madness.
some poor guy yesterday who was with me in the line for his interim EAD was asking why he'd had to come back in three times for a replacement card (so that must be 9 months) and they couldn't tell him. i wanted to reach over and say 'there is no point in asking, they don't know. and even if they did say they knew, you wouldn't be able to trust that their information was correct' but i didn't obviously.
i don't think they work in strict order. i don't think they take preference. i think they slip back and forth and basically don't really know their arses from their elbows, bless them. but at least you can say that the majority of them are very very polite.

I would like to say in response to this and many other statements about the
work product of the CIS and consulates and embassys of the US around the
world.
They tend to know their arses and elbows quite well.
All you have to do is read the questions asked by the petitioners and
benificiaries of this news group to see that it is the petitioners and
beneficiaries that don't know their arses and elbows.
My pardon to the many of you out there that can read an instruction and
understand it. And have very little or no problem (past the long waits
involved.)

having been on the receiving end of the cis not knowing which date is my received date and notice date, i think i have some right to say that they 'don't know their arses from their elbows' (a comical term).
if i had taken the advice of 3 of the immigration officers i spoke to then i would not have my temporary EAD right now. as a customer/client/alien/whatever, i expect to be give the correct information. i should not have to become a lawyer or a detective to become a legal alien. i have read the paperwork and understood it well - but when it comes to the point where the immigration service doesn't know the answer, then why should i?
