Hello, want to thank you in advance for any advice or pointers
to information.
I am a naturalized US citizen and a landed Canadian immigrant.
My wife is a Dutch citizen and a landed Canadian immigrant.
We have been married (in Canada) for 4 years and have been
living in Canada.
I was recently laid off and it is quite possible that
I will move back to the States for a new job.
If we file a I-130 for her from Canada, I understand
that the petition will eventually be processed at the US Consulate
in Montreal. Do people have any experience how long that may take?
It will be great if my wife can move back to the States with me
when I find a job there.
Thank you again for your kind help.
Cheers,
Bernard

We did the same thing - (I-130 spousal visa from Canada). Just to give you an idea about how long it takes-
We applied last March. We are still waiting for an interview date. Tentatively, it looks like we may have an interview date in May. So it will have taken about 14 months for us. I wouldn't expect it to take less than a year (considering all the reorganization going on with INS).
Good luck.

In my case (Cdn citizen, wife is US citizen), the I-130 was filed in
April 2002 and my interview is Mar 18![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
