Exactly what it says: the date when you became a Permanent Resident, the Service
Center which processed your I-485 is the place, and your category (printed on the
actual card) is the class of admission. If you did CP, you enter the date you entered
with the IV, and the POE.

To the Original Poster: Are you aware that it will take many years for this petition
to have any affect? As a permanent resident, you have to wait for the preference
date. Right now, for most countries INS is processing spouse I-130s from January 1997
(Mexico Oct 1994). So, if you filed today, it would take over 5 years for them to
start processing the I-130, and 6 years before a visa would actually be issued.

It's the date you received adjustment of status or completed consular processing
(it's on your green card) and either the port of entry or the district office that
adjudicated your case.

Thanks for the replies. I am aware that it may take long to do a 485 based on my GC.
I have also filed for a N-400 (TX INS) and in the waiting process. Meanwile I am
filing a petion for my wife using (I-130). Nathan, NC

It seems as though it would be easier to simply wait for the N-400 approval and
swearing and then applying for I-130. There isn't anything to gain by filing the
I-130 before you get naturalized.

Re: I-130 LINE 14A Please help
I would recommend NOT filing the I-130 for your wife right now. The reason is that
right now, INS would treat it as an I-130 for a Family 2A case. Since that has a
five-year backlog, INS takes its time to approve such I-130s, often three or four
years. The reasoning is that theoretically sound: you don't need the approval any
earlier anyway.
But in your case, you would need it approved by the time you are naturalized - and
INS would NOT usually expedite your case once it is caught in the slow track.
Besides, you don't really gain anything by filing the I-130 right now anyway. You can
file it together with the I-485 after you are naturalized.
