I-130 and I-485 for green card now 2 years pending!

I-130 and I-485 for green card now 2 years pending!
My husband is a born USA citizen and he filed the I130 for me 2 years
ago, in 2004 after we were married. At the same time I filed the I485.
We had my fingerprinting done, and later our joint interview in May
2005. At that point we're told only the background check was needed,
should be no problem at all. But since then its been almost a year and a
half !!! Theres still no word or update to our cases. His I130 isn��?t
even approved yet, there should be no problem at all. What is the
timeline on a USC I-130 petition? We've filed numerous Inquiries and we
just hear its still pending. Does anyone know what the hold up might be?
