Filed I-130 plus supporting forms at Nebraska INS office. Green card holder filing
for wife on H-1. Got USPS certified mail receipt dating January 16, 2001. The check
was cashed soon upon receipt. No official receipt from INS or any other answer so
far. Changed address after filing but had all mail forwarded without incident. How
long am I supposed to wait for an answer? I thought they would give you a tracking
number so you can estimate how many years it will take for my spouse to get her
green card. Can I get hold of anyone at INS? Nebraska number is busy and I have no
TRACKING NUMBER.

Generally the tracking number is the immigrant's A-number. Your spouse should have
one due to the H-1 visa.
