Greetings,
On the I-129 form question 12...
Could someone give me clarification on the second part which says "Parents"?
I do not like to leave any lines blank and I am not completely sure how to answer
this part. I am a U.S born citizen and have answered the first part with my birth
certificate number...etc.
Regards,
Chris

It's not a second part to the question, its just that the line for putting your
certificate info on cuts it up a bit
Basically the question is saying
My citizenship was acquired through: Birth in the US or Naturalization or Parents
As a US born citizen you only need to check the birth in the US box and fill in your
certificate info as you said you did. The parents part is if your parents came here
from another country when you were under 21 (I think, not sure on age) and you gained
citizenship that way.
If it was a two part question they would have put 12a and 12b. They are pretty good
like that![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Good luck

The parents is when the child is orn in a foreign country but are American Citizens.
I am an example of this. My dad was sstationed in Germany and I was born in Germany.
Because he was a US citizen, I received a certificate of birth abroad of a US
citizen. I then when on to get a Certificate of Citizenship with an Alien #.
