The US citizen was born in the US. On question 12 of the I-129F Application,
below the part where you check "Birth in the U.S." or "Naturalization"
there's a line to add the certificate number, date, and place it was issued.
As she was born in the US, her birth certificate is proof of citizenship,
and we're adding it to the application. When it asks for the certificate
number, date, and place it was issued, is that ONLY if you've checked
Naturalization? Or do they actually want that info for the birth
certificate?
And if that's the case, are they talking about the very first certificate,
or the one she's including?
Also, do we have to check the "Parents" box, or does "Birth in the US" cover
her? (Her parents are both US citizens.)
Thanks,
Zed

This has been asked before. In the prior versions of the form it was clear that they were asking for the naturalization certificate number.
Although the lnaguage has been altered, IMHO, that is all they are asking for. In "simplifying" the form, the created confusion.
