Hey, this is my first post.. I have a few questions.
1) I was wondering, I know that the INS does not say you need to send a copy of you
and your fiances long form birth certificate with your I-129F, but I have read in
various places that it's good to include one anyways. My question is, does it have
to be a CERTIFIED COPY, or can it just be a regular photocopy?
Also, as far as airplane ticket stubs etc. for proof that we have met in person..
should I send my original ticket stubs, or can I photocopy those as well? I don't
really like the idea of sending the original ticket stubs because #1 then I wouldn't
have them if I needed them for proof in the future, and #2 I kinda would like to put
them in our scrapbook![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks in advance, this is a great newsgroup I have gotten alot of info so far just
reading all the past posts!!

Hi Greg and Sandy ![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Send them only copies of the plane tickets, etc.. I did this and had no problem
As far as the birth certificate. I sent them just a copy of mine and it was a
terrible copy. They accepted that. My fiance on the other hand had to have hers
translated, so she had her translation notorized. Then we sent them copies of the
translation and copies of the original.. you couldn't even read the original because
it was so worn out.. but they accepted this.
I don't know if anyone else here found this but when I did my 129F I downloaded the
form and filled it out with Adobe, but I also had them send me the entire package of
forms.. and in this package was a small piece of paper that I signed that said
something like "I am sending copies and I am able to produce the originals".
Good luck Jeff

Hello,
I only sent copies as they don't guarantee you will get them back. I found ER-750 to
send with my application.
The Immigration and Naturalization Service has changed the policy requiring
submission of original documents or certified copies of documents with applications
and petitions.
You may now submit ordinary legible photocopies of the original documents required,
including Naturalization Certificates and Alien Registration Cards. Please submit
copies of both sides of documents. You may be required to present the original
documents during any subsequent contacts with the Service.
The following statement must be signed and dated by either the applicant, the
petitioner, or the attorney, and submitted with each petition and/or application.
"Copies of documents submitted are exact photocopies of unaltered documents and I
understand that I may be required to submit original documents to an Immigration or
Consular officer at a later date."
