Hi All:
I have one question regarding my parents, they have green card(LPR)
and they want to go to their native country to visit their relatives,
I just want to know how long they can stay outside USA and come back
here without any problem.
Thanks and best regards,
~Farooq

It should be 12 months. anytime longer than that, they should apply a
Reentry Permit for greencard holder.

You are right that more than 12 months requires a reentry permit.
However, that is not to say that less than 12 months are automatically
safe - in fact, in some cases, you can lose the GC the day you leave the
USA (although this would be very unusual).

It would be best to stay out less than six months and certainly less than 1
year. More thasn 6 months can lead to a loss of an green card depending on
the specifics.

And staying out for more than 6 months "resets" the naturalization
clock, I believe

Not always. Staying out for more than a year always resets the
naturalization clock, staying out for more than six months may or may not
reset it.
