How long does it usually take from NVC to embassy?

Michi,
Thanks for the compliment, but I freely admit that I don't always know the right answer. But I try to keep my fingers off the keyboard when I don't know, in an attempt to hide my ignorance. Sometimes I am successfull.
I had exactly the same anxiety you do only a few weeks ago. I KNOW how long it takes plain old first-class mail to go from the USA to my wife's country - were was the file? Why didn't they have it? Why wasn't my wife getting her Packet #3?
Don't wait more than a month to inquire, but try to not panic quite yet!
Regards, JEff

Thanks so much for answering
So then, maybe, just maybe, Madrid's embassy may have it, it's just that they are real busy and it hasn't reached the IV unit..... well, that makes me feel a "little" better
I'll hold on to that thought, instead of thinking that it's lost in the mail. Thanks again,
Lily,

I might add that the whole immigration process is akin to an IV Unit. Just a slow ***drip, drip, drip***

I think the Madrid embassy generally handles things pretty quickly. One
tip, when you get your packet 3 and are ready to send everything in. Call
the embassy and see if they will let you schedule the interview on the
phone. My fiance had her K-1 interview in Madrid in December. She had
called with a question about something else and they told her she could
schedule on the phone. She never did send in the signed checklist. The
first interview they offered her was less than a week later! She knew that
was a little too soon, so she asked for a later date and got one about 2 1/2
weeks later.
Hypertweeky tried getting her interview on the phone and they wouldn't let
her. So it may not work.
By the way, it was only 2 or 3 weeks after I got the approval notice from
NVC that my fiance got her packet 3 from Madrid. Can't remember exactly,
sorry.

I just got done calling Madrid again, but they still haven't received our case!!! 2 weeks today since NVC sent it out to them. I'm just praying and hoping that they will get it next week.
