How long before physical EAD Card is received after approval
Hi,
I am on a L2 visa and had applied for an EAD at the Vermount Service
Center in later May 2005. I got an approval notice on Sep 23rd, 2005
stating that my EAD has been approved and I should get it in 14 days.
I havent received the card in mail as yet, and am pretty sure that the
mailman hasnt misplaced it. (I also checked with my local USPS and they
dont have any undelivered mail for me).
Was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat, or anyone else has
faced any similar issues. Normally how long does it take for the
physical card to be received after approval.
Would appreciate any info on this.

Hi Helene,
Thats great! Do you mind letting me know what date the EAD was sent out
to you, I am trying to find out if there is someone whose EAD was sent
out on Sep 23, and he/she has already received it.
Appreciate your response.

Hi Ajakster,
Congrats! You got it in 7 days! Today is the 14th day in my case and I
am still waiting :(
By the way, had you submitted the case in vermount SC?
Any idea, if the dates cards are actually sent out are different for
different service centers?

You are right to start getting concerned. I would give it another few days,
and if the card hasn't arrived by Friday, call the 800 number. It sometimes
happens that for whatever reason, USCIS receives letters back as
undeliverable. The immigration information officer should be able to tell
you if that has happened; it should be listed in the computer file.

I am on a L2 visa also. I submitted my EAD application in late July and received card September 23rd. Our lawyer is based in San Diego so I am not sure where she submitted but even she was surprised it was returned so quickly.

The lawyer's location is irrelevant; she would have to submit the EAD
application to the service center that has jurisdiction over where you
live. If you are also in San Diego, that would be the California Service
Center in Laguna Niguel.

Re: How long before physical EAD Card is received after approval
Hi,
Last week I checked the status of the case on the USCIS site and it
showed that the card was undelivered and has been returned back to the
office. Asked me to update the address.
I dont understand, how it was returned as undeliverable, when the
address was correct.
Anyway, I talked to the rep and "updated" my address, and requested her
to resend the card. She said that she has put in the notes to resend
the card. When I asked her how much time it will take me to receive the
card, she said 30 days :(((
Has any one of you faced a similar situation? If yes, does it really
take that many days to resend the card. I tried to check the change in
the status on the website, but no change as yet!!!

Re: How long before physical EAD Card is received after approval
Hi Neo,
I had the exact same situation. Online status showed AED approved
September 23rd (Vermont), but I never received it. I actually sent them
a letter October 14 complaining, and guess what... October 20 my
pending I-140 and I-485 suddenly got all approved (after only 2 months:
filed in August!). I guess the officer read my letter about the
misplaced EAD card and decided to solve the whole situation by
approving everything in my file...
