Default How long before final GREEN CARD interview?

Wanted to know how long it took to get the final GC interview. Heard it was 2 years
but someone saying it is FIVE years now. Friend on a tourist visa marrying a US
citizen in NYC.

Appararently she has been told to leave the country for six months before she can get
workpermission and return. Then 5 years(total) to get GC.

My friend got the final interview in 2 years. Isn't this the norm?

Read the responses to your first message. AILA estimate about a year for NYC.

Andy.

WHY DO YOU KEEP ASKING THIS? AND STOP EMAILING ME AFTER I ALREADY ANSWERED YOU. Do
you need to post it multiple times and send multiple emails?

Nothing has changed. It took an act of congress to create the conditional status, it
will take an act of congress to change it. The information is freely available all
over the place.

If you are married for less than 2 years when you enter the US on a spouse visa, or
adjust status, you get conditional status when you enter the US. In fact, many people
do not even need an interview after fiiing I-751.

There is no requirement to leave the US for 6 months. Why would that be a
requiremnet?
