How long for 1st NOA for Vermont I-130?
Hello friends,
I sent my wife's I-130 to Vermont on Oct 10th and received delivery
confirmation from the USPS that it was delivered on Oct 15th.
Question: How long does one usually have to wait before getting the
first NOA? I need this NOA so I can file my wife's K3 with Chicago!
And if I don't hear from Vermont anytime soon, what should I do?

Vermont slowed down with their NOA's recently. It took them 16 days to acknowledge that they had our RFE information.
I understand that they had an audit recently so that might be why they are backed up.
I got stressed when they took longer than projected with our application and then again when it took so long for them to acknowledge receipt of the RFE info but both times things worked out and they got there in the end.
I haven't read too many posts about them losing information just being a bit slow lately. I am sure you will here something very soon.

If you don't receive by Holloween, then see if your check was cashed.

Just for laughs here are my VSC times so far:
Mailed I-130 application on Sept 8th
Return receipt notes they received it on Sept 10th
First NOA dated and mailed on Sept 15th.
I have a similar response time for mailing the I-129F to Chicago,
mailed it out on the 22nd of September and on the 29th the 1st NOA was
mailed out from there.
That's it for me, nothing expected until January or Feburary according
to the 60-90 day processing time notice on the I-129F (90-999 days for
the I-130). I do wonder what would happen if by any chance the I-130
were to be processed first, it could happen!
