Default How does one obtain a Police Certificate?

I just read somewhere that obtaining the police certificate could take 40 days.

How do we go about applying for his police file/record/certificate in advance.

My husband is in England and we have applied for K3. The I-130 and I-129F have not been approved but I hope it will not be much longer. We filed for I-129F on Aug 14, 04 it was received and now pending approval. The I-130 was transfered to California from Texas, it too is still pending.

Thank you
Gloria

Print out and completed this form: http://www.met.police.uk/dataprotection/forms.htm
He then needs to go to your local police station with your completed form and 10 uk pounds + proof of His identity, with name, address and date of birth.
Then wait 40 days, yes it does nearly always take 40 days.
You will receive a letter from them stating what is held on record which is valid for 12 months.
