Hi what is the impact of spouse AOS
Hi All ,
What is the impact on the spouse's AOS if I got laid off during her application. I have applied the AOS in Feb 2002 and waiting for adjudication . In the mean time I got married and applied her AOS and during the process if I got laid of , but managed to find another job of same description with my EAD. Will it impact the GC process any way ?
Thanks
Biran

It will help you if you can be a little clearer with your question. You mention YOU applied for AOS and also that YOU have an EAD. Then you talk about HER AOS. Who is the alien and who the US citizen? I'm confused.
However, I believe you can hand in a new affidavit of support at the interview and as long as that shows adequate income I can't see a problem - assuming one of you IS a US citizen.
NB I'm no expert and haven't had my own AOS interview yet but am going by info obtained on this board. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but a more detailed and clearer post from you would definitely help.

You don't get EAD for a specific job. One size fits all.
Plus, you financial status isn't of prime importance, your sponsor's is.
However, if her income is not sufficient, you can include your income.
Your combined income can count if you have been living together for 6
months or more.
If both people are working, it would be very difficult not to make the
required income in most cases.
If you don't earn enough money and don't have assets to make up for 5
times the difference, then you would need a co sponsor.
