I am a US citizen. I am getting married soon. My fiance is in the process of getting
Green card through employment. (She started the job last july.) She would like to
apply for green card though marriage. I need to know
1. What forms I need to fill etc.
2. Is attorney needed in this case.
3. How long after the application she will get work permit?
Thanks in advance

If your fiancée is going to get one anyway through work why go the trouble of refiling for a marriage based green card?

Forms I-130/I-485/I-765/I-131 are to be filed by you and her simultaneously at the
INS district office for your residence. There are supporting documents. Check out
the big marriage-based immigration sites for detailed lists of enclosures.
> 2. Is attorney needed in this case.
No, not unless there are some complications like unauthorized work, criminal
record, etc.
> 3. How long after the application she will get work permit?
It depends on your INS district office. See http://members.aol.com/MDUdall/instimes.htm, 4th column.

Because it is faster? may cost less money? maybe less complicated. And it will also
allow her to change jobs more easily?

Unless she is planning to file for citizenship after 3 years instead of 5 years or
planning to change jobs, why bother?

A green card is a green card, and this includes citizenship applications. It doesn't
matter if you have obtained your green card through marriage or through some other
means. As long as you are married to the same US citizen for 3 years after becoming
a permanent resident and are still married, you may apply for citizenship after 3
years, and not 5.
