This is the first time I am about to renew my AP. I've read the application, but it
does not say much about renewing process. Using the form (I-131) seems to be
"applying" rather than "renewing", unlike EAD where it has an option to select
renewal. Do I need to include copy of previous AP and receipt of I-485? I understand
I need to attach 2 photos. Thanks for your help.
does not say much about renewing process. Using the form (I-131) seems to be
"applying" rather than "renewing", unlike EAD where it has an option to select
renewal. Do I need to include copy of previous AP and receipt of I-485? I understand
I need to attach 2 photos. Thanks for your help.

You are correct. There isn't the concept of renewing an AP document like there is
with an EAD. To be on the safe side I did include a copy of my previous AP. I also
know they pulled up my old AP file on their computer because they changed the street
address to the new one but left the apartment number from the old one! You should
include the receipt for filing the I-485 and yes you need new photos.

with an EAD. To be on the safe side I did include a copy of my previous AP. I also
know they pulled up my old AP file on their computer because they changed the street
address to the new one but left the apartment number from the old one! You should
include the receipt for filing the I-485 and yes you need new photos.
