They have had problems with certain states in the US and will if you request it in writing supply a copy of the Decree Absolute with a judges signature to an adress in the US if you pay the postage and a small fee.
Good luck , Im just going to get me a copy with a signature.

I am going to the court house today,to see if I can change his mind.
If not I will contact the courts in Bristol UK and see if they will do that for me too.
I think it is wise to get a signature just in case.

I'm not in AR, I'm marooned waaay over in Texas (and where the heck is the
beach, I'm accustomed to a 40 min drive to wiggle my toes in sand, not over
6 hours, please folks in Corpus keep quiet, you have any idea how far it is
from here?)
We skipped over the border into AR just to get married. My other half's
family came from there though many of them left around the 1930s, heading to
points west and north, and I know quite a few folk there now at least by
email. We've been to Fort Smith, Mena, Magazine, Atkins, Booneville and
driven the highways inbetween. Very lovely countryside. Only passed through
Little Rock in a rainstorm, have never set foot out of car there. I've
learned a great deal about northwest AR history in researching the family
history there (thought it was a good way to get to know where those folks
were coming from).

Never been there but in 1870 my husband's great-great-grandmother was living
somewhere in Sugar Loaf area, north from Harrison I think but I could be way
wrong. Yah and to think I knew very very little US geography & history and
had ZERO but absolute zero interest in family history before I got here, now
I can bore folks to death with tales of their own ancestors in the AR hills
and valleys (some frisky folk there), TX, CA and Oklahoma to name a few, it
kept me busy while not working and I met a lot of interesting and
generous-spirited people too. When you get there post to the group and let
us all know how it is, I hope you enjoy it there. I'll ask around but I
don't think we have any relatives near there (it's a biiig family, but I
think not).

sorry to butt in on a conversation i wasn't invited to, but i'm from north
east arkansas and spent some time travelling the state. if you don't mind
driving a few hours and want to have a relatively fun and possibly rewarding
day, murfeesboro, arkansas is home to the only diamond mine in the u.s. for
a small fee, you can dig in the mine and possibly turn up diamonds, rubies,
or peridots. it was something that i enjoyed when i did it, so i thought
i'd share the idea.

Oh yes, that is a great idea - Arkansas diamonds ! I had forgotten until you
mentioned it, I have heard of those - I do want to go there sometime, even
if, as you say, a reward isn't guaranteed. It definitely does sound worth a
visit, maybe dbark could get her fiance to find a diamond for her wedding
ring![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

funny you mention that. a friend of mine used to work at the mine when he
was in high school. my fiance and i introduced him to the woman he is going
to marry. don't think we'll see him on here, tho. he decided to hire a
lawyer to do all of his paperwork. anyway, back to my story. he found a
gem while working there (not a diamond, i think he said it was a saphire,
but that may be wrong). he's having it made into his fiance's
wedding/engagement rings.

That is a nice story. I've already mentioned at home that I do need some
more rings, got told there was nothing stopping me digging for stones if I
wanted them that bad. We'll see.
