I posted on here back in May when my fiance n I got denied our K1 for his convictions (dating back 11 + yrs). he has 2 thefts n a dui. Yes, he was wrong! but why must we continue to be punished!
The last attorney i talked to said, in other words, 'go away and come back in 4 yrs!!! Oh, and bring 8k with you.' Apparently his last conviction needs to be 15 yrs old. (he stole $17 worth of food from a store).
It will be next to impossible for me to move there... it will be my last option if we can even do that.
I have contacted other attorneys and they will not get back to me. i cant even get an attorney to help with us with our waiver! we ARE eligible a waiver. What do i do?? I need help n no one will help us. i'm at my wit's end!!!

If an immigration attorney who specializes in waivers told you that, clarify that you understand what she said, and then take it on board.

Yes, she specializes in waivers, I found her on another site similar to this one. She said this after she saw his records. I emailed them to her. Her secretary actually relayed this, she said: ' "he is not eligible for 4 more years", his last conviction needs to be 15 yrs old. She will charge you 8k and that may change after 4 yrs.'
Well our waiver application says he is eligible now. Like i'm going to sit around 4 years? and maybe, just maybe, I'll get the waiver. Two other attorneys will not get back to me and its been 2-3 weeks of trying to get a hold on them.

You don't say why. It's sounding like it may the only option if you want to be together.

With all due respect, *you* are not being punished. Your fiance, however, has a criminal background. If you no longer want to feel as though *you* are being punished you have a few options: 1) file the waiver and see what happens; 2) move to his country; or 3) find another boyfriend. I'm not suggesting that any of these are necessarily good or practical options... but they are options.

my only comment is - if someone who as you say 'specializes in waivers' says no - then i would think you either did not explain your situation correctly to her - or you really dont get how far from the mark you are.

Ask for an appointment to speak to the specialist. Pay for the appointment if necessary (a few hundred bucks has got to be worth it to get a proper answer). Have every conceivable document to hand if its in person, or scanned and ready to email her if its by phone. Go through the details with her one final time and get her to outline your options. question what you dont understand until you both come to an agreed plan of action at the end.

The first part of your post is "Help - I need help". I think that Fatbrit's question is VERY relevant.

Is not your real question something along the lines of "How can my partner and I be together full time?"?

D'you what really irks me? It's when people say they want to be together, but what they really mean is that they want to be together in the US. As if the US is the only country in the world where their being together is possible. The truth then becomes, they want to be together but only under certain circumstances.

Oh ok. I get you. That was a response to when someone mentioned that I go to Scott attorneys. I said I have to contacted the Scott attorneys. I have contacted other attorneys tho. I'm not a troll if thats what you're thinking??
Ian, yes I do want to stay in my country if I can. I dont see why thats wrong of me...yes I want to stay here and yes I want to be with him. Thats why I'm hurting..I'm torn. Sorry if thats a bad thing in your eyes.
I was depressed and hurting yesterday and came looking for help, but some of you are not too nice. I feel attacked . I wont come on here anymore.
