Just wondered if anyone could tell me what to expect when filing directly with a
field office. My husband had a K-1 approved and arrived in the U.S. last year, but
had to return to the UK before we were married. We subsequently married in january
in the UK (plans changed, and changed again.. long story).. He came to visit me in
April and long story short, decided to stay for a number of reasons. We filed the
boatload of paperwork in Detroit ( I-130, I-485 and EAD app.) and it seems by the
return receipt we received from the USPS, that it was received on July 29th. We have
not heard word one about it. Is it common for this much time to pass without so much
as the 1st NOA?

I filed that same boatload of paper back in June here in Seattle, and just received
my approval for my AP last week, along with my booked finger printing appointment and
EAD appointment. I was actually expecting it to be much longer. Don't expect a
speedy reply when dealing with the INS.
