i was married may 3rd and submitted the I-130 on May 4th. we are still waiting for her to receive her packet 3 from rio de janeiro.

what happens when we return packet 3 to rio? is there a time estimate till the interview. we have everything in order such as i864 and police reports, etc.

also, when does the FBI check take place? and how long does that take?

thanks a lot for your help. this really stinks because i am in the US and she is there in Brazil.

If my memory serves me right ( we dealt with the rio office 2 years
ago) after packet 3 it is usually a month or so b/f the interview and
after the interview they do the FBI check wich can sometimes take a
while (a month or so)--keep on t hem--call them etc to follow up--I
did and it seemed to speed things up--but I also had all my paperwork
in order.
