Default He (German) Can't come back to his wife (US) - Can You help?

(Hope you understand) Need help for the following: A friend, living
per Visum in USA, there married, forgot to tell that he is visiting
Germany, where he is born. Now he is not allowed to return. The
Consulat in Frankfurt says, his wife has to act, his wife was told, he
has to act, and there is nothing "moving". I would like to write his
story and contact down, but dont know, to whom i can send it. He's
here in Germany for nearly 1/2 Year, and he fears that his life is
going down. Anny suggestions? Thanx a lot for any reply!

What is stopping her from moving to Germany to be with him?

Can you please provide more information? What kind of visa did he have when he was in the US (tourist, student, work...). Did he ever had a green card, or went through the process? Is it that he didn't obtain advance parole before he traveled to Germany? What is the reason he is not allowed to return? Hopefully you can reveal more facts and people here would be able to provide some suggestions.

Why didn't he or his wife do the first thing that comes to mind:
get an immigration lawyer?
Trying to navigate these waters without a lawyer is foolish.
It would also help to know what kinds of forms they had filed in the US.
