Got an RFE
Checked online today and it says I got an RFE.
Atleast I know they have reached the NOA1 dates of Jan 7th. Can anybody let me know if they will put my case back to the end of the queue again or will it be assigned to a case officer. Either way, it looks like my wife will give birth to my child in India. Which is the best way to sponsor my child? K4 Visa or get a US passport for him ? |

I recently got an RFE from NSC after about 200 days (!) and was told upon phoning the helpline that It will not be put to the bottom and that I would get a decision within between 30-60 days of recieving my reply as my case had *now* been assigned to an officer. Of course NSC being NSC Im sure others will be quicker than the 30-60 day mark. Im not sure how other service centers are doing but NSC has doubled the amount of issued RFEs in the past 2 months of processing.... |

I'm sorry to hear about the RFE, especially given the fact that your wife is pregnant.
One thing I can tell you is that your file will NOT go back to the end of the line - it is assigned to an officer. It is this way for the K1 centers so I would think it would be the same for you as a K3. There has been a lot of discussion recently about RFEs for K3ers. Search the forum and hopefully you can get an idea of how long you're looking at. When is your child due? I wish you and your wife the best of luck. Sorry to hear about your RFE. Missoury (K3) had stoped processing RFE's at the middle/end of Oct. It seems like they are slowely starting again. Hopefully it will continue.

No one is really sure why, but NBC hasn't processed RFE's going back to November. I'm stuck in the same boat - they received the additional information I sent back on Dec 9, and nothing has happened since then. Let's hope they get moving on the RFE's and you don't have to wait too long.

I was really praying that I didn't get an RFE because I was cutting it close with my wifes pregnancy. If all went according to plan, my wife would have got her K3 visa by her 6th month of pregnancy.
Now with the RFE, there is no way for this to happen. The baby is going to be born in India. I will have to travel to India and hopefully get a US passport for my newborn. The only problem is that I don't know how long this will take and I only have 3 weeks of vacation in a year. The only way I see it working is for me to miss the birth of my first born son. Go to India after maybe a month, apply for a US passport, spend a week and then go back to USA. After, the baby gets the US passport, I go back to India and bring my wife and child back, since it will be next to impossible for my wife to travel almost 20+ hours, carry those heavy luggages, go thru US customs & immigration by herself and take care of the baby. So much hassle and monetary costs because of an RFE. (I am not even sure what it is for yet but I suspect it has something to do with my wifes Birth Certificate) |

Finally, its too bad you weren't ***** enough to go to New Delhi and do a DCF filing which could have cut total processing time down to 3-4 months from the day of the Delhi interview... |

Is it just me or is ProfsnlOCMan a cross between a waste of semen and a perfectly good egg? Is it possible that his parents were really first cousins? Why would any one be so bitter and devote so much time trying to piss off everyone that he runs across? I suppose that he is probably just a lonely man trying to look good online, as in real life chances are high that he is and always will be a worthless sack of piss.

LOL !! You don't have to plan your baby according to USCIS timeline. I would rather having lots of babies while waiting to get approved though my spouse is thousand miles away... and it's nice thing to do to 'kill' time for me... hehehehe !! |
