Hi!
2nd NOA was August 7th 2002. - we were with the California CS though and I heard that they had been more than busy! It took almost 8 weeks to get the petition paper work across from CA to the UK ! Incredible!

Hope this helps

From my thread earlier today which no one read So I wrote to the embassy yesterday and they replied today stating my husband's interview is scheduled for next week!! We said his day of travel was Oct. 31st, so they really do try to accomodate folks. Problem is, we still don't have the police certificate (it's been 30 days so far), so he may have to either reschedule or go down to Scotland Yard and grovel and hopefully pick it up from them. I'm so happy to have a date to look forward to, it makes all the difference. Our timeline:

April 28th 2002 - Filed I-129F in Chicago
upon hearing nothing for 2 months figured it was lost in the system so we filed again on:
June 27th 2002-Filed I-129F in Chicago
July 17th 2002 - received first NOA
September 1st 2002-sent police certificate in to wrong address listed on embassy website
September 12th 2002 - Recieved Packet 3
September 14th 2002 - notified we sent PC to wrong address
September 16th 2002 - sent PC to correct address
September 19th 2002- sent checklist to embassy
October 17th 2002- Recieved interview date of October 24th.

One step closer!

Andy [/SIZE] Also waiting to hear from London for Interview date. We used NSC, and only took 22 days for them to forward our Petition to the London Embassy, and London to send forms to my honey.
Anyone have a timeline on this? I really 'need' him with me soon! Going for surgery that I can no longer postpone and want him with me!
Does anyone have a email addy for the Embassy,...any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.....
Wish everyone the Best out there going thru this!

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE FOR YOU TO GET THE ACTUAL INTERVIEW DATE WHEN
THEY RECEIVED THE PAPERWORK FROM THE INS? IT'S BEEN SEVEN WEEKS FOR
ME ALSO AND MY FIANCE HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTICE WHATSOEVER. THE UK
CONSULATE KEEPS SAYING THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING. THEY ALSO
SAID IT MAY HAVE GOTTEN THERE BUT THE MAIL HAS PROBABLY NOT BEEN
OPENED (THIS IS CRAZY). I CANNOT STAND THIS WAITING ANY LONGER.

THANKS

AFter we got approved from MSC it took about 4 weeks to get PAcket 3, then after we sent in packet 3, another 4 weeks to get an interview date. Call, email, fax, pester, 7 weeks is too long.

A word of advice - choose email. The expensive £1.30 phoneline isn't actually
based at the embassy in London - it's in Scotland!! So the only info they can
give you is whatever shows up on their computer screens. I never got any help
from the phonelines but when I emailed it went straight to the people who
mattered. And they responded 5 days later with an interview date! I had been
phoning the expensive phoneline about twice a week and getting nothing but was
told, 'try ringing again in a few days, there's nothing we can do'.

Email is the way to go. The people on the phoneline aren't even in the same
country as your papers and have no power over your application. It's info only.
Whereas the people who answer the emails obviously have clout (I'm specifically
talking about London here - it may be different elsewhere).

I wrote a polite mail expressing concern that I was hoping to marry in December
and had heard nothing and that it meant I could only provisionally book a
wedding, invite friends etc. Very important to me, yes, but hardly a
life-threatening problem. But they took my worry very seriously and gave me a
date in response. I couldn't believe it. I hadn't dared ask for a date, simply
some idea of how much longer it might take in case I needed to modify my plans.

We hear a lot of horror stories. But I've found the actual people at the
embassy nothing but helpful so far. Doesn't stop me gnawing my nails at the
thought of the interview though LOL.

Folinskyinla was right (different thread). Statistics be damned. All the logic
in the world doesn't stop me worrying about this thing.

Most of the fears I hear here are pretty understandable. But I don't hear a lot
on the subject of paranoia so in case there's anyone else as mad as me out here
I'll spill the beans so you don't feel alone..

For example, the medical. I have no reason in the world to believe I'm at risk
of any of the diseases they check for. But as soon as I knew these could affect
the issuance of a visa I became convinced I had the lot, secretly lurking in my
bloodstream. I rang an AIDS helpline and they asked me some questions and
responded with, 'look, you're just not at risk.' I wasn't reassured so I
actually booked an appointment at an STD clinic - a horrible experience. Of
course it all came back clear. And I know all this was completely ilogical -
not least because I wasn't in the least afraid of the serious consequences for
my life that any of these diseases might mean, only that the possibility of
them could stop me getting a visa. But fear isn't logical. I'm normally a
pretty balanced individual but this whole process has turned me screwy.

I have checked and rechecked my documents, had my health gone over with a fine
tooth comb. And I tell myself there doesn't seem to be a reason in the world
why they would refuse my visa application, fortunate as I am to be living in a
country that's not considered a threat. And yet, and yet.....

I can laugh at myself for being ridiculous but at the same time know I'm still
scared.

10 days to go - and counting.......

Fortunately I do yoga, which doesn't seem to have calmed the fear like it's
supposed to but has the benefit that I'm flexible enough to start gnawing my
toenails if I run out of fingernails

Regards

My fiance emailed the London Embassy for the forms the day I mailed
off the I-129f to the TSC. He received the forms in a matter of days
and sent them back to the London Embassy immediately. He'll take the
police certificate with him to the interview.

I sent my stuff off on 10/7/2002 and Texas received them 10/09/2002. I
just got the first NOA yesterday on 10/18/2002. I asked Texas to cable
the information to the Embassy.

Here's a good site to check processing times:

Good Luck to one and all!

Regarding the police certificate, my advise would be to start chasing the HQ of the police force you sent the application to.
Although they all get sent to the National data office at Scotland Yard, you can't get through to SY.
Generally the regional police HQ's are very helpful and if you tell them you have your interview next week they will phone and try to push it along for you.
Not trying to be negative, but the absolute worst thing that can happen is that you will get an RFE at the interview.
What this means (basically) is that your visa has been approved subject to you going back and presenting the police report when you recieve it. You wouldn't need to make an appointment, just turn up with it between 8am-1pm Monday to Friday.
Of course this can be a pain if you are a long way from London, so try everything you can to get it before you go.

Good luck
