Got Greencard Almost
Went to Chicago today to get my new greencard after getting the letter
saying my conditions had been removed and I am now a lawful permanent
resident! I now have to wait on receiving the card in the post, oops
mail, I gotta talk American now ;-)
They stamped my passport so it covers me for up to a year.
The whole process from applying for the K1-Visa to where I am now has
been plain sailing all the way which amazed me, though sore on the
wallet. ;-)
This group has been great though I have been mostly a lurker.
Best of luck to all those who are starting out and waiting it out.
You'll get there eventually! It's taken about 3 years from
K1-Application to where I am now.
Timeline approx.
Applied for K1, Jan 2002
Approval June 2002
Married Aug 2002
EAD Dec 2002
Applied AOS Sept 2002
AOS Interview (Approved) June 2003
Conditions Removed Oct 2005
Cheers
David

Gooner - it's 2 years minus 90 days from the date you became a PR. NOT your marriage date.

Re: Got Greencard Almost
I sent very little which was kinda worrying.
My 'better half' had thrown out most of the statements for the utility
bills such as the gas, telephone etc since we got married. I managed
to salvage a few from this year.
I ended up just sending our tax returns and one or two credit
agreements, bank statements, insurance statements.
I was worried that they would have asked for more evidence but they
obviously didn't.
