Default Good thing about filimg joint taxes with foreign spouse

*I am a full time college student & no income per say

*My foreign wife made $5000.00 in foreign income

* We signed a joint letter to IRS to have my wife be treated as a U.S.
resident for tax purposes and in doing so she is required to report
her worldwide income.

* Now when we file our taxes - we will max out on the earned income
credit :-)

Anyone else do this too?

Scotty
