Default Getting ready for I-751

Hi All-

My wife (from Belarus) has been living in the US with me for over a
year, and everything's going swimmingly. She obtained her conditional
green card, and next September (2006) I will be filing the I-751 to
have them removed.

I think I already have enough evidence - we have a joint bank account,
joint car insurance policy, I have life insurance with her listed as a
benificary, and we filed taxes jointly. We also started a business (I
am the investor, she does the work) which is small but going off to a
good start. We have papers showing we registered a State trademark and
assorted paperwork with invoices and services with our names on them.

The only thing I was wondering about if it would be a good idea to have
her listed on my mortgage in my house. I bought the house long before I
met her, and I didn't see any need to have her added to the mortgage.
The house is willed to her, the insurance will pay the balance of the
mortgage, and as of now she doesn't earn enough to pay the mortgage if
I were to lose my job, get sick, etc., so I figured she wouldn't need
this over her head if that was the case.

Just wondering how it will look through the USCIS though - do they
expect us to share the mortgage in the house we live in, or is the
other evidence good enough for their purposes?

Thanks!

-Derrick

Hi Derrick,

Please read this recent thread, and note Folinskyinla's post where he says that it is not necessary to have both names on a house deed or mortgage.

Hey,

I see Noorah referred you to my recent thread.

I'm mailing the stuff out today for my "Request for Evidence." Thanks to Mr. Folinsky for putting my mind at ease!

I'll let you know the outcome!
