Hi I am currently in Oz and me and my fiance were planning to go home next Dec 08 Jan 09 and get married, I have since found out from researching that you have to lodge an application to marry for 16 days then after that you have to wait another 15 days until you can marry. This has totally ruined my plans as we were going to go home for a month and obviously this is not going to be long enough.:curse:
Does anyone know if there is anyway around this?

Before stressing out too much, maybe give some more specific information that will allow you to get some meaningful advice.

- What kind of marriage ceremony do you want to have? Specifically, will you be in an Anglican church in England/Wales or somewhere else?

- What's your nationality? And your fiance's nationality?

- What's the plan for after the wedding? Return to Australia, settle in the U.K. or go somewhere else?

Hi we are both British and we want to have a civil ceremony in England. After the service we want to return to Australia as we have jobs here.
