Hi Everyone One of my friend is in USA and he is out of status, but he has
grandfathered himself thru Section 245(i) of LIFE Act (sponsored by his brother), but
he has to wait a lot. He is also getting married next month with his girlfriend who
is a US citizen. Does somebody know how he can adjust his status and become legal
permament resident.
Any response will be appreciated

He can file for adjustment of status based on his marriage: form I-130. He can also
apply for an EAD card to work with his AOS. I'm not sure how the LIFE Act works, but
he probably shouldn't apply for Advance Parole to leave the country until he receives
his Green Card - since he was out of status this could cause him to be banned from
reentering. See this link at the INS site for more info

helpful tips. Take Care. Shelley
