Get immunizations before Civil Surgeon Medical?
Hi all. We are at the medical stage of our GC application and wondering whether it would be financially sensible to go and get the listed inoculations from a cheap supermarket clinic prior to the Civil Surgeon appointment. We had friends that got it done all at the same time (inoculations by the Civil Surgeon) and it cost them a fortune in co-pay.
Does anyone see any issues with this? Assume that the clinic would know if any of the inocs were not age-appropriate etc.
TIA,
Doug.

You are allowed to get the immunizations/vaccinations anywhere. You can go to your own doctor, a clinic, anywhere...just make sure to get proof from that facility that you've had them done. Give this proof to the civil surgeon at your medical exam appointment.

We went to our local Public Health clinic and got the core required vaccines for the princely sum of $0.
I have a trip to India in my future so I chose to get Hep A & B vaccines as well and these were *not* free but they were not required for the immigration benefit in my case.

We had our medicals last week and were a bit worried about having to have all the vaccinations again as we have no records. However, the Drs office took blood and sent them off and as a result the only thing we had to have was the Tetanus booster which we were due anyway.
