G-325A Biographic Information form question
HI All
A couple of questions regarding the forms:
We have just completed the I-130 form to begin application to the London USCIS office. I am a UK citizen and my husband is an american citizen. We both live in London at the moment
I am completing the G-325A form to go with the I-130 application pack
1. We are completing one form each. In the section where it states:
'Current Husband or Wife (If none, so state) Family Name (For wife, give maiden name):'
what do we need to enter? my new surname, my maiden name or both?
I have now changed my surname to my husbands surname along with all my identification passport etc. do we enter my maiden name or use my married surname?
On my form I have put my new surname as Family name and entered my maiden name on the ' All other name's used' section
2. Also, for anyone else filing the spouse Visa application with the London USCIS office how long has the process from filing i-130 to being granted the visa taken?
we are hoping to move in September so just wondering if its a realistic time frame?
Many Thanks in advance!
Sue

Re: G-325A Biographic Information form question
Process takes about 6 months or so.
The G-325a is a legacy form that never went away. Fill it out the way you understand it....it won't be a problem.

Re: G-325A Biographic Information form question
I agree with Rene. The G-325A is a legacy form that should have died in 2003 when the former INS was disbanded... but, alas, it didn't. It doesn't really matter what you put because no one is likely to look at it. The anxiety caused by the G-325A is inversely proportional to its importance.
Use whichever name you want... it won't matter so long as you're consistent.

... do we enter my maiden name or use my married surname?

I filed i130 DCF in London last week and i've got a thread keeping a log of our progress and explaining our situation and our timeframe so far.
