Default Frankfurt, Germany consulate question

Is anyone filing for the K at Frankfurt consulate? I read recently
about an OF-167 form regarding my financial information along with the
I-134 affidavit of support, but the site didn't say which consulates
require this form. Anyone heard of the OF-167 form or seen packet #2
from Frankfurt? Thank ya much!

technically as i understand it, you dont need to have a i-134 if you
can show enough proof (assest, a job offer that makes enough money and
can start immidiatly after you arrive ...) - but that is nothing that
would work with fiancee visas. you gotta wait even for the temporary
work permit. i am not even sure if the temporay work permit is of any
use - takes a month til you have it, which is longer than any of us
wants to wait to get married and file for the aos including a new ead
again. so we that wait for k1 will be likely to definately need the
i-134. why would any consulate not require the i-134? it is actually a
good thing we dont need the i-864 yet for the visa. if it comes to
germany, the frankfurt consulate is the only us-embassy that processes
k1 fiancee visas. so there is no option that another embassy may treat
the need for i-134 differently. and you probably mean packet #3 for
germany which nobody (we are waiting too) seen so far or posted on
here. the information provided by the germany us-embassy is
unfortunately very limited. but there might be a chance the of-167 is
purely optional, only telling you how you could show proof of support
(e.g. through a i-134). correct me anybody if i am wrong here.

12/16/02 - tigger sends out the i-129f
12/19/02 - 1st NOA through NSC

Moscow doesn't require I-134, just latest tax return or employment letter.
Kind of refreshing for a gov't agency to accept primary docs without a gov't
form attached.

I am a USC and fiance is from Germany. We are just trying to get
together all the documents for the consulate if this petition is ever
approved. I know for sure they require the I-134, but I read a
website (who knows where after so much digging) that some consulates
require an OF-167. I have never heard of this form, but the site
didn't specify as to which consulates need it. My fiance will call the
consulate and ask specifically, so I'll let you know what I find out.

My fiance is German and has received all forms from the Frankfurt Consulate. The OF-167 is not required. At least, it wasn't for us. We got our approval back in February, but had to put off the interview. It will be in June. I haven't been around this NG for a few months - it's nice to finally see some others going through Frankfurt. Let me know if you have any questions, and I will answer if I can.

He just got packet 3 today, so we figured out that form wasn't required. I guess his interview will be around June sometime also. Do you know how long it takes for them to schedule?

Thanks for your response

Hi mca,
I would like to take you up on that offer:

My fiance is USC and I'm the German one. He has filed the I-129f for
me and currently we are in the waiting process. While waiting we tried
to do a lot of research on the future paper work that is coming to us.
What I'm really interested in as of now is if you have any information
about the approved doctors or panel physicians that are supposed to be
listed in packet #4 that your fiance got from Frankfurt. I'm wondering
if there is any doctor in my proximity (I live in Leipzig) so that I
can get the medical done early enough and so I would not need to
schedule for a medical exam at the consulate in Frankfurt before the
interview there. Have you got the list of addresses of these
physicians? Is is possible at all to do the medical well in advance?
And what precisely are the immunisations that I will need? I got very
differing information so far. It seems to vary from consulate to
consulate.

Thank you very much for your help!

The DS-230 part 1 and the checklist have to be sent back in immediately before they will schedule an interview. There wasn't anything surprising in there.

DS-156
DS-156K
DS-157
DS-230
I-134 (i had already filled that out and sent it to him)
police records
military records
birth certificate
marriage certificates
passport
evidence
photos (new specs)

Regarding the medical: He was given a list of doctors, but the consulate said they will schedule an appt. in Frankfurt before the interview for him. He can choose another doctor and have the exam sooner if would like.

I will ask him to email me the doctors if you all would like and I can post it here later.

thanks for the reply - and nothing surprising in the packet that is reassuring . and i dont think posting the docs would be of any use here. not sure if it is even possible to do the medical ahead of the arriving of your own packet #3.

Probably would not be a good idea.
If you have to travel to Frankfurt anyways, you might as well get the medical while your there.

He just mailed in the 2 forms today, so I will keep you posted as to what day is interview is scheduled.

Hanna,

I've sent you an email, so let me know if you didn't receive it. I'm not sure what service center you're going through (so I don't know how long you're going to/have been waiting for your 2nd NOA), but I tend to agree that you probably shouldn't have the medical done too early. I sent you the list of vaccinations needed and can send you the doctor list later if you still want it or Kariml hasn't posted it by then.

Default Frankfurt Consulate Experience

Hello!

Just thought I would update you on our situation. I am in Germany right now visiting my husband and flew into Frankfurt on Monday. I found out the NVC had forwarded our case to Frankfurt and we were anxious to find out if it had been received. Matthias hasn’t had very good experiences with the consulate, and had told me several stories where he wasn’t well treated, so I was interested in seeing how that changed with me going with him. It was quite a change.

First, when we checked in at the front gate, the woman there said that she wasn't sure if anyone inside could help us (we were hoping they would give us packet three), but they let us inside anyway. We waited for only 2 minutes outside and were let in through security without incident. (In the past Matthias has waited up to two hours outside). We went to the Immigrant Visa section (windows 17-22 I believe) and walked straight up to the counter. We explained the situation to the woman behind the counter and she looked up our case in the computer.

The NVC forwarded our case on 5/12 and Frankfurt received it ‘last week’. She said that packet 3 had already been mailed, but since we were here, she would give us another copy. I told her that we had brought everything that would need to be returned with packet 3 and if we could return it today. She told us to take a minute and look it over and return it to her when we were finished. We were so excited to actually hold packet 3!!! We filled out the check sheet and gathered our documents and went back to the window. We were greeted by the same woman, who seemed pleased with our obnoxious organization and said that she would fill in our case number for us, and pass our paperwork on to our caseworker.

It couldn’t have been a better trip for us! Not only did they give us packet 3, but we were able to turn it in AND only waited for 2 minutes. Matthias and I were practically skipping when we left the consulate.

On the checklist, there is a section for ‘Anticipated Departure Date’ and we put June 13th (which is when I return to the states) which is SOON!. We’ll see what happens now, but we are just waiting for an interview date....

Hope all is well and the process goes smoothly!

Niki
