Default France - DCF

To share informations : DCF is actually possible in France.
I went to the consulate to ask directly in december , and they said yes.
So we've decided to do it ! (instead of waiting our fiance visa - CSC 1 NOA 09/30/03)
I went again to the consulate just before the marriage to ask again to be sure, on january 2nd, and they made me fill the DS 230 form that day and they said that then they can begin the process (security) .
Mariage was january 14th, and we went to the consulate on friday 16th to give them all the I 130, Bio,pics ..., and the checklist as I have already all the papers.
Now I am waiting the letter for the appointment.
They said it could take from 2 to 8 weeks , so if it has really begun on januray 2nd, we are soon at 4 weeks.

Does anyone now how long it usually takes to have it in France , and at the day you receive the letter , how many days after is the appointment.

I know I just have to wait now , but it is difficult to wait every day for the postman !

Thanks

Myriam

I recently checked if there was any previous DCF experience in France
mentionned and couldn't find any. One person mentioned the fact that
DCF could be available in France but never sent any feedback on if and
how everything worked out for him.
Good luck to you and don't forget to keep us posted on your own
experience.

Here are some news :

Friday 30th I went again at the consulate to ask if they had some news for me , or a delay... and they said that my interview was already scheduled for thursday 5th february !!! they said I would received the letter the same day or the day after... But nothing came !
So today I called the embassy (first the 14 euros call for nothing), then I called the american services and they connected me to the visa service, a nice lady gave me the phone numbers of the doctors I must call to have an appointment for tomorrow, and to come to the interview on thursday even without the letter.

I am very busy at the moment as I want to move next week.

Thanks a lot to all of you for the informations I have found here. If I didn't know all the process and forms first I would have missed my interview (or the medical at least).

I will write about the interview on the interview experience page.

Thanks for sharing this info. It's really great news for you guys :-)
We'll stick to K1 for several reasons but if my fiancee was still in
France right now, it surely would have made things much easier to go
through DCF after getting married.
