Filling out form I-130: Question on line 14
Hi, While trying to fill out line 14 on form I-130, I'm not sure what to enter. It
says "If your relative is currently in the US, complete the following: He or She
arrived as:". Here's my case: I was in H1-B until January 2002, got laid off,
adjusted my status while in the US to a B-2 and I haven't left the US since. The last
time I entered the US, it was as a H1-B holder while I was working (That was back in
Dec 2001). The new I-94 I received when my adjustment to B-2 was granted has the same
number as the last I-94 I got when I entered the US in H1-B status .
So:
- what should I say I arrived as (non-immigrant worker, visitor, other...)?
- what is the date arrived? (I'm guessing the date I entered the US last time in H1-B
but maybe not!)
- what is the "Date authorized stay will expire" ? (is it when my B-2 expires?)
Thanks a lot for any help! Sly.

You want the H-1B definition for which I put "temporary worker (H-1B)".

Yes.

I'm not really here - it's just your warped imagination.
