Hello:
I am preparing to file N-400 and I have some questions relating to Part 10.
D. Good Moral Character. Here some background, it is almost 3 years when I
picked up two traffic tickets one speeding the other illegal turn. For
questions 15 - 21. Would I be correct in answer in them in this manner?
15. Have you EVER committed a crime or offense for which you were NOT
arrested? No
16. Have you EVER been arrested, cited, or detained by any law enforcement
officer
(including INS and military officers) for any reason? Yes
17. Have you EVER been charged with committing any crime or offense? Yes
18. Have you EVER been convicted of a crime or offense? Yes
19. Have you EVER been placed in an alternative sentencing or a
rehabilitative program
(for example: diversion, deferred prosecution, withheld adjudication,
deferred adjudication)? No
20. Have you EVER received a suspended sentence, been placed on probation,
or been paroled? No
21. Have you EVER been in jail or prison? No
In addition to filling out the table below I will be attaching my driver's
licence report from the state department of highway safety and motor
vehicles.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Dude, check the instructions carefully; if it is not there, go to USCIS
and ask them or try calling them (going in person may be easier than
getting through): they are NOT interested in parking and moving
violations that are infractions!!!
Now, if you had been caught driving under influence, or driving 25 mph
over the posted speed limit (or 100 mph - depends on what state you are
in), or had 10 unpaid parking fines - that would have been a misdemeanor.
In fact, I recall seeing on some CIS forms (I-485?) something like "do
not include moving violations that led to a fine under $250". C'mon,
even the sitting Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court has had traffic
tickets!
Be good,
Keshi

I think that changed with the new version of form N-400. They now expect you
to include the moving violations. Anyways thanks for your response.

Old form...
The old N-400 in fact had such a clause.
THe current N-400 does not have it, which implies that you have to mention
moving violations.
