i live in the states, and have my fiancee visiting from denmark. unfortunately he has
to go back in 1 month, and i wondered if there was any way we could get him
permission to stay here. i have heard that fiancee visa can take up to 6 months, so i
guess thats out of the question. any ideas ? anything would be greatly appriciated

There is a better option if you can afford to go to Denmark: marry there and file for
a spouse visa for him there...he should have it in about one month, maybe less,
according to most recent reports. See the 'DCF:Which Visa" link at the Doc Steen site
and note link to Danish consulate where they confirm that they do this:
http://www.usembassy.dk/VISA/marriage.htm You do not have to stay in Denmark while he
completes the process, you only have to be there in person to file the original I-130
at the consulate...and he'll most likely be back in your arms in a month or less,
entering the US fully adjusted to conditional resident status. One should only do
this if the foreign fiance has no criminal record and no health problems or other
potentially complicating factors, by the way...read the Doc Steen URL mentioned
above, it will give you lots more info.

have to ask. so go to denmark get married, stay there for a month or so and he should
be able to come back here after that without alot of trouble or ? what if we got
married here, would that change anything ? i can go to denmark and stay for a while
if needed. we are just trying to find a way where we dont have to be sepperated
again. again thanks nikki

Go to the Doc Steen site, click the "DCF: Which Visa" link and start reading. Read the
procedure for direct consular filing, and then check the experiences link for the
Denmark experiences. It will enlighten you tremendously.
