Fiance visa's
Hi, Pete & Chrissy here, allow me to introduce ourselves.
Chrissy is living in Florida and is the petitioner, Pete currently, in
Lancashire, England is the beneficiary.
We are only just at the beginning our I-129 application and therefore are
new to all this. Having read though the documentation there are some things
which are at present unclear, we hope that someone out there can advise on
these points.
1. Police Certificate: please advice on procedure of how to obtain this.
2. Evidence of Support: What does this mean and what are they looking
for?
3. During an I-129 application can the beneficiary still travel on a Visa
waiver to the USA for holiday , business or the visit their fiancé /
fiancée?
We look forward to hearing from you.
Happy New Year
Pete & Chrissy

Hi Pete and Chrissy, welcome to the weird and wonderful world that is K1
Visa land!.You'll find plenty of good help and advice here, and boy are you
going to need it.
To answer your questions, firstly Pete needs to call into his local police
station and request a copy of his police record, they'll give him a simple
form to fill in which will be sent to Scotland yard, it'll cost him £10 and
can take up to 4 weeks to obtain so it's best done pronto, it's valid for
one year.
Evidence of support is usually supplied in the form of an afidavit which you
complete although there are other ways, it's basically to satisfy the INS
that Pete isn't going to go straight onto welfare as soon as he lands. Check
out this link.

This site will tell you a great deal about the process, it's well worth a
read before you start.

In answer to your 3rd question, it all depends.I travelled twice to New York
during my application without a problem HOWEVER some people have been sent
back so it's a gamble. If he does travel it helps to have plenty of evidence
that he intends to return to Blighty, things like a letter from his
employer, mortgage or rent statements that sort of thing.
Good luck with the application, hope this helps, please bear in mind I'm an
ordinary geezer so the information I've given you is only advice and may not
be correct!
