Fiance visa interview - London document checklist
Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what is on the documentation checklist that the US
embassy in London issues for the interview?
I'm a fiance of a USC, at an early stage in the whole process
(peitition was submitted one month ago) but I'm trying to get
documentation assembled ahead of time. This is cos I have lived in
several countries over my life and it looks like I have to source docs
from them all, which might be time consuming. Anyone who has had to get
a police clearance certificate from Singapore will understand my pain!
It also helps my fiance get her docs sorted out early.
I've seen a few varying document checklists for the interview in
general, but I understand that each embassy differs in what it
requests.
Many thanks
Simon

Hi Carl,
Many thanks for that. Congrats on the visa!
Don't spose you could tell me how long it took you from:
1) Petition application being submitted; until
2) NOA sent to you, from London embassy, requesting docs and interview;
and from that point until
3) Your interview with the London embassy
I'd love to get an idea of current timeframes going through the London
embassy for this stuff.
Thanks again
Si

Im not good with all the acronyms and alphabet soup that this visa
malarky involves
so I dont know what a NOA is
Im at work right now so most of my dates are hazy
original application in USA around late Feb-05
the packet sent to me by the London embassy asking me to sort out my
document checklist (NOA ?) was around early September
but as I went out for the birth of my daughter, I was tardy in
respondng.
I sent docs to the London embassy, or rather thay recieved them on
3-Nov-05
next I heard from them was that my interview was for 2-March-06
hope there is so help here for you

Thanks for the indication of timeframes. Looks like I'll be stuck in
London for a while yet. Bugger. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Re: Fiance visa interview - London document checklist
Hello Si,
my wife ( US Citizen ) began an I-130 spouse visa application for me
at the end of October 2005, and my interview will be at the begining of
April. So ours will about 5 months of a timeline, at first we were
thinking it would take forever, but looking back it goes quickly. The
best piece of advice I got from here is that if you can work on things
at your end whilst waiting it goes much quicker and smoother.
Make a file up of all your documents.
Send for your Police certificate if you haven't already, you can either
get a form from your local Police station or online at your Counties
police website, that takes 40 days to come through whatever happens so
better get it in early and is valid for 12 months, copy everything you
can think of Passport, Birth cetificate, which must be in long form
with both parents named, keep them in your file, safe, before you know
it you'll be on the way to the Interview.
Good luck.
