What happens if a couple apply for a K1 visa and subsequently split up ? Would
the non-US citizen be able to visit the US or would there be a period where this
was barred ?
Assuming the non-US citizen were able to visit the US, would (s)he be able to stay on
if (s)he were susequently to reconcile his / her differences with his former fiance
and marry ?

They might be looked at more closely as someone who wishes to live in the US. As long
as they left within the 90 day term of the visa, there would be no problem

Sure, you aren't banned from marrying someone as a tourist.
