Nothing that I know of. To those who responded regarding the
legalities of this issue, my sincere thanks and appreciation for your
time. For the moralists who felt compelled to offer their unsolicited,
worthless opinions, you can go shit in your hat.
FYI: I wrote on behalf of my nephew who is in the U.S. military,
he fell in love on his last posting to Thailand. He will be 19 in
September or thereabouts; the girl turns 17 in a few months. He also
met her mother at that time, she seemed to approve of the union.
Personally, I don't think it has a chance of succeeding, but it's his
life.

Thanks again for the helpful responses.

1/2 + 7 would only make it sick after the petitioner turned 24.
The girl is 16.5. So that's 19/2+7 = 16.5.

Searched on the user name, as Margaret suggested. On Google, as it does a better job of finding things than does the B-E search, and because Mr Mouse is a usenet poster.

I did the search.. I bet keep the comments to myself..

He obviously hasn't looked up what we looked up has he? Looks like they like to keep Thai girls (or ladyboys) in the family.

Bill,

You make a good and valid point - we all need to be careful about making assumptions.

Just out of curiosity, how did things turn out for you and your girlfriend last year? Did she get her visa?

Regards, JEff

I know what you mean. Some people might have thought the last post about
the nephew was pseudothropitism.

Well...

My fiancee, when she applied for me (She's the US citizen) was 17. I was 19 at the time.

She had a letter from her mother saying she approved, and turned 18 during the process, so i'm not sure how much it counted for anyhow, but when we did send in the forms initially, she was under 18.

So...i presume 16 would be the same, somewhat at least...

*edit*

Just read some more of this thread, not quite sure what the hells going on, so, if its all a bit odd, ignore me trying to give some serious help, if its serious, then i guess it wont hurt...

for a fiance visa to the U.S.? The U.S. fiance lives in California, if
that makes any difference. Thanks for any input you may have!

While I am sure you are a troll, I'll post my advise anyway.

Have you considered adopting her?

It would seem a little more appropiate considering her age (and your's although unposted).
