fianc?e visa
I just called BCIS and learned my petition for fiancée visa 129-F was
approved. What is going to happen next and how long will it take? Sorry
for my ignorance. My fiancée lives in Russia.

The approved petition goes to the NVC (National Visa Center) where there are security checks performed on the the alien fiancee. Because she is from Russia there are additional security checks for them it can take up to or in excess of 2 months.
Once the security checks are complete, then the petition is forwarded to the consulate where she lives. They then send out what is known as Packet 3. After gathering all the documents on the checklist in the packet she then returns the checklist. The consulate will then send her Packet 4 with Interview and medical information.
I do not know how the consulate in Russia works as they are all different and I'm only familiar with Paris. I've no idea what else may be required, it depends on the consulate.

Re: fianc?e visa
My wife's security check was rather quick at just about 2 months, and the
interview was scheduled for month later. (partially due to holiday season
( so many holidays between RU and US in the US embassy) It's hard but my
advice is to expect a long, long wait.
1st NOA was 04-22-02
2nd NOA was in the beginning of September
interview date 01-16-03
issued 01-18-03
arrived in chicago 01-19-03

Re: fiancée visa
I believe the fiancee will be notified with a packet of information from the
American Embassy
