That’s why you shouldn’t presume, it’s because currently in different countries.

Blame the Goverment or the 1% that run the world for making tax payers be slaves to the system.

So to answer your question family would support me if need be but I would support myself.

*sigh*

This shows the lack of research you have done. Even if you are able to marry this person, and if they are able to sponsor you for a visa, they still must prove they (or someone else are able to support you financially)

Unless you have many thousands in the bank or able to liquidated within a year, YOU CANNOT support yourself in the eyes of the Federal Government.

Blame the Goverment or the 1% that run the world for making tax payers be slaves to the system.
I don't know which tinfoil hat you're wearing today, but I personally like:

- Roads
- A military
- Education
- Retirement benefits
- Healthcare Benefits

... and the many other things that taxes pay for!

That’s why you shouldn’t presume, it’s because currently in different countries.
Obviously. If you were living in the US you wouldn't need a visa would you?

They have to sign a binding contract with the Federal Government in order to do so, and make enough to be able to do so in the first place. Look at the I864 requirements.

Look, I am sure you are a nice women and all that, but the issues you have are many and varied. You have not yet told us what heinous crime your beloved was so horribly unjustly imprisoned for... and it does matter. It might disqualify him from the ability to sponsor you.

So what was he jailed for?

After the responses I’ve received to some questions I’ve had. There is no way I would now share mine and his business over a platform that are unable to open their mind to other possibilities offer than presume the worse. People have served many years to be to be then found not guilty. And corruption is very big in America. Thanks for taking the time out to respond. Have a lovely day ✌️

Nobody has presumed the worst, everybody has been polite to you and given you good advice. But his conviction makes a big difference, so it's pertinent info.

But as above, an immigration lawyer (NOT a visa agency) will be able to help and tell you if there's any way forward.

Good luck.

And that is of course your choice, but I am sure you will understand that many of our members will not waste their time responding if you don't give enough information to make an intelligent and informed opinion/comment.

With that being said, all we can say is that you should consult an immigration attorney that is experienced in these sorts of issues.

In the US, trials, convictions, sentencing, and everything a prisoner does during incarceration, and at least some things all the way up to the end of parole, if applicable, is a matter of public record, so you wouldn't be exposing anything that isn't already a matter of public record.

I think everyone here on BE is well aware that there have been major miscarriages of justice in the US that have been exposed in recent years, and given that your audience here is almost exclusively comprised of people who were not born American, and so less likely tied to a "Merica does no wrong" attitude, I think if anyone is guilty of jumping to conclusions and "assuming the worst", it is you!

You, he, and his family need to look at the financial sponsorship forms. I-134 for the K-1 visa and I-864 for the subsequent adjustment of status (or spouse immigrant visa if you go that way).

It's not as simple as saying "we have money". There is a specific amount needed, depending on household size, and ultimately is a binding contract with the US government.

So you guys all need to look into that carefully.
