Default Fee waiver on AP?

I was just wondering if we could file for a fee waiver on AP, or would that be just too damn cheeky?

Thanks

If you can afford to travel you can afford the AP?

I thought you said yesterday all fees could be waived?

I would have to agree there... unless it was someone who had a serious emergency, and TRULY couldn't afford it, then I think it is far too "cheeky". The system is setup to help people who really need it, not to be taken advantage of.

Cheers,
Sean

they did say that any fee could be waived.....

I agree with abuse of the system and I am not trying to abuse it as I definitely qualify for the fee waiver as I have received food stamps within the last 180 days....I am still reeling from the effects of months of lost income

However...that might be just a bit too checky....

maybe I could apply for a fee waiver for it at a later date...I certainly dont have the money to be leaving right now to go anywhere anyways but (in the event of an emergency)

Are you the USC or the immigrant? If the latter, aren't you forcing you sponsor to pay the government back for food stamps, etc?

If you are the USC, do you have a co-sponsor?

Hi:

Technically speaking, it is true that ANY application fee can be waived. However, when you are applying for an immigration benefit which has a "public charge" provision in it, the request underminses the application.

So, in that sense, it is kind of "cheeky".

Curious... how did you receive food stamps? Isn't that why you have to get a Sponsor, as to not become a "ward of the state"?? Just curious, no offence.

Cheers,
Sean

very simple...within the last 180 days I received food stamps because i was unemployed (I am a USC) now I don't need a sponsor because I have found a job that exceeds the income requirements.

and out of curiousity...I am no longer a public charge, so I don't see what the problem would be...(as a best guess anyway)

Didn't realize you were the USC... it makes sense to me now, I thought I was missing something. I understand it is tough too... went through the same thing with my USC wife not being able to work, her being pregnant, etc, etc, and me having a hard time finding a job when I first got down here. So I definitely understand how that feels.

As for the fee waiver, I guess it still comes back to, if you have the money to travel, then why do you need the fee waiver, except for the cases like we agreed on, where it is an emergency travel situation.

Anyways, good luck and God Bless (and congrats on the job).

Cheers,
Sean

I'm 55 and have been paying taxes since age 16 (my first on the books paying job). So what do I get for contributing for the last 34 years to the treasury of the US?
