Faster Processing of Labor Certification?
I've been away from this newsgroup for several months. The last time I was
here, there was talk about a new, proposed way to do labor certification
where positions, rather than individuals, are approved. That way if an
individual fits the approved position, the person is immediately approved
(thereby reducing processing time/effort). What has happened to that? Is
it coming? What is the expected processing time if it gets implemented?
I see that the current processing time for labor certification in Boston,
MA, is dismal. The processing time for state labor certification is
something like 15 months, and federal is 10, for a total of 25 months. Why
don't these agencies simply raise the fees and higher more people to process
the applications? I'm sure the applicants are willing to pay extra for
faster processing.
